Section two comprises bound volumes of correspondence, report, working papers and plans of George Baker Forster. These relate to his colliery interests in the North East and in Yorkshire, the Midlands, Cumberland, Wales and elsewhere.

NRO 3410/For/2/37-39 are 3 Volumes of original and copy letters, papers and plans re Longwitton Colliery and Greenleighton Quarry and Lime Works, owned by Sir W.C. Trevelyan and subsequently by Sir Charles Trevelyan (Greenleighton) and Cecil Spencer Percival (Longwitton), leased by the Longwitton and Greenleighton Coal and Lime Company. Much of the correspondence is with Thomas Gow, agent for the Trevelyans and C.S. Percival, including reports re the progress of workings in the colliery and quarry and royalty rent statements, also correspondence with applicants to work the colliery, 1874 - 1894.

NRO 3410/For/2/40-54 are 15 volumes of original and copy letters, reports and plans re the Whitehall Royalties at Allhallowes Colliery, parishes of Allhallowes, Bolton and Torpenhow, Cumberland, royalty owners Sir Wilfred Lawson, George Moore, H.A. Clark, William Fletcher and the Ecclesiastical Commissions (glebe land), leased to Waugh and Fletcher, later the Allerdale Coal Co. The papers are mainly concerned with the management of the royalty of George Moore including correspondence with William Fletcher, lessee and Philips, Sidgwick and Biddle, trustees for George Moore. The volumes also include reports re the conduct of the colliery, including sections of seams, current workings, production, establishment and the 1897 strike, mainly by Thomas Bailes for G.B. Forster and T.P. Martin, manager and surface and workings plans 1868 - 1922.
